Risks of "Voluntary Return" vs. Extradition Defense
I've been contacted by authorities from my home country asking me to "voluntarily return" to clarify some issues with a past business project. They say if I come back now, there won't be an Interpol notice or a formal extradition request. My gut tells me it's a trap to get me out of the UK where I have legal protections. Has anyone ever fallen for this? Should I just go back and face it, or is it better to stay here and wait to see if they actually try to extradite me? I don't want to look like a fugitive, but I also don't want to end up in a cell without a lawyer.
