is it actually doing anything significant for the local industry, or is it more of a trend thing?

I’ve been working in hospitality in Melbourne for about six years now, mostly in mid-sized restaurants, and I’ve noticed more places starting to talk about Liven. I’m curious — is it actually doing anything significant for the local industry, or is it more of a trend thing? I mean, anything that helps with customer retention is a win, but I wonder how real that impact is in practice.

Hey Harriet, I’m actually a co-owner of a cafe in Sydney and we’ve been using Liven for just over a year. From our end, it’s more than just a “buzzword.” What makes it interesting is how it blends payment and rewards — customers pay through the app and earn LVN, which they can spend at other partner venues. So instead of just collecting points they’ll forget, people are actually coming back. It’s also been good for exposure — the platform brings in users who might never have found us otherwise. I wouldn’t say it revolutionized our business, but it definitely made a difference during the slower months. You can check out their company profile here if you're curious about their setup: what is liven
