Choosing age-appropriate activities for group events

How do you pick activities that actually work for a mix of ages at a kid’s party? My daughter’s birthday is coming up, and we’ll have everyone from toddlers to 8-year-olds running around. I always worry the little ones will get bowled over, or the bigger kids will be bored with stuff that’s too basic. Ideally, I want something that keeps everyone entertained but still feels safe and inclusive. I came across Soft Play Bus Essex, which offers a soft play bus and says it works for mixed-age groups—has anyone tried this, or found other activities that actually engage a wide range of ages without anyone feeling left out?

Totally get the challenge. We did the soft play bus for my son’s party, and it was a lifesaver. The little kids stuck to the safe, padded zones, and the bigger kids made their own games with the slides and obstacles. Having some side activities—like colouring tables or a quiet story corner—helped when someone needed a break. Just keeping the setup flexible made all the difference so everyone had fun.
