Realistic returns from social / impact VC in 2026?

What kind of returns are people actually seeing from social venture capital right now? Everyone talks about impact, but nobody posts concrete IRR numbers. Is 10–15% realistic or are we talking single digits?

From my own small portfolio slice in social VC (started in early 2024), I'm tracking around 11–16% net IRR so far across three different funds. It's not the 30%+ some classic VC funds brag about in boom years, but it's held up much better during volatility. The stability comes from sectors like clean energy access, affordable healthcare, and sustainable agriculture that often have government or institutional revenue streams. Of course you still get write-offs, but overall drawdowns have been shallower than my mainstream VC positions. One clear review I found recently that discusses realistic return ranges, current market conditions, and which managers are actually delivering without overpromising is this one: https://tennews.in/social-venture-capitalist-reviews-is-online-investing-without-tricks-possible/ It avoids hype and just lays out the numbers and transparency levels. Very useful for setting proper expectations.
